    Low speaker sound output...
Hi. I'm using Windows XP, and have got a problem (I seem to be having a lot of these lately).

The sound output on my laptop has gone from really good (as usual) to extremely low, even with the speakers on maximum. (and unmuted)

I'm not sure what the problem could be, as the laptop is generally left on overnight untouched. Yet, this morning, the sound output was magically lowered.

I was unable to hear most sounds, and can only hear sounds that are generally really loud...

What caused this problem, and how do I fix it?

Many items can cause the problem, for instance a media player may lower the main sound. Open up your Volume Control Panel Start > All Programs > Accessories > Enterainment > Volume Control

Once there Make sure the Main one is at a decent level and the "Wave". Both are necessary(sp?) for sound to work.

If that does not help let me know I have a few other ideas.
