    How many children can you have at your in home daycare before getting a license?
    How many children are you able to keep at an in home daycare before being required to get a state license? I have two children of my own already.

    Depends on the state. In MA, if ANY weren't yours technically you needed a license. Which, of course, didn't stop people from doing it anyway...

    I'm not sure about everywhere, but I THINK that unless you are baby sitting for friends or family, you must have a license if you are caring for 'strangers' children (obviously they won't be strangers once you meet them, but I hope you know what I mean)
