My 1997 toyota camry won't start
The car died on me one day. It wasn't getting any fuel, so I changed the fuel pump. Now when it first starts cranking it tries to start then nothing. Still acts like it is not getting enough fuel. I can hear the pump prime and stop and it did when the car was new. What's wrong with my car? Do I just need to burn it?

. Check all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

Be very thorough or you'll waste time and money.

    . Check for codes.

. Check for spark. If there's none, replace the coils (front and rear):

While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com

Ensure spark plugs are relatively new.

. Check for fuel. Has the fuel filter been recently changed?

90%+ of "crank but won't start" situations are electrical-related, not fuel.

Never give up! Victory is close.

Not much information to go on. V6 or 4 cyl. This sounds like a timing belt issue if it died while driving. How long has it been since it's been replaced?
Does this car have an immobilizer key system? (security light blink in the instrument cluster)
Most important, does the check engine light come on? If so, can you retreve any codes?
Help us help you. The more information the better. I know your new here, there's a lot of help here.

Burn it? NO! Send it to me first!
If you're not getting fuel pressure, you may have no power to the fuel pump. But, it sounds to me like you aren't getting a tach signal(engine RPM) to the igniter and/or the PCM.

Whatever the problem, it can be fixed. But you must be patient with the diagnosis. Throwing parts at it will only lead to frustration.
Kitch is correct by asking for more info regarding the symptoms. Tell us more about what's happening, and when, and what's not happening and when!
