Dear Maureen
The book you are after is Ameliaranne and the Green umbrella. Author Constance Heward.
It was re-printed up until 1973 and although out of print now I managed to get hold of a copy from a second hand book seller in Camberwell, Melbourne, Australia. The reason I could not find it was that I was spelling Ameliaranne incorrectly as well. So no hyphen and with an r. so try searching with that tiltle and hopefully you will find a copy. Good luck
