How do I convince my mom to let me get a nose piercing?
Hi,I'm 15 years old girl and I really want nose piercing, and I try everything to convince my mom,but she is too scared for my health and thinks it looks ugly. The worst is that she would not let me even when it is legally, with 16 years. What can I do, I talked with her for 100 times and gave her explanation about cleaning, maintenance and all,and she against it.I'm responsible and mature for my age,and I prove it to her. So,how do I convince my mom to let me get a nose piercing?‎
P.S.Sorry for my English, English is not my native language.

Explain to her that a nose ring will make everyone that meets you think much higher of you.
Explain to her that having one will give you a much better chance at getting a higher paying job.
Explain to her that having one will increase your social status.

Oh yea, it does not do any of those in fact it makes all of them harder, guess mom is right

It doesn't make any of that harder. When you try to get a job take it out. You can put it back in.

I finally talked my mom into getting mine done for my 16th birthday. I told her that's all I wanted and she let me get it. I've had it done for 6 years now. Just make sure is something you really want done.

Im a 15 year old guy and I'm having the same problem. Only difference is that I want a lip ring not a nose ring. You have to see things from both point views. Parents don't understand that piercings don't change who we really are. I know that it doesn't change your social status and everything else. It doesn't make it harder to get a job at all as long as you have a good oitgoing personallity then there should be no problem. I wish I could help you but I'm struggling with the same thing lol if I convince my parents il give you my secret haha well good luck :)

Helpful detail - You can buy a retainer so no one can even tell you have it done. INCLUDING MOM.
Opinion - Nose rings are the new tramp stamps. Grab a needle and do it yourself if you want it so bad.

That is some poor advice to be giving out on this site. First you're telling her to go behind her mothers back to do this and you're telling her to do it herself. This is wrong and not the way things are done. You can't be telling underaged kids to be doing things behind their parents back.

I meant if her mom didn't like the way it looked she could tell her about how they have retainers and she wouldn't have to look at it. Everyone does things behind parents back underage or not. There's nothing wrong with what I said except for maybe the way I said it.

There is something wrong with what you said... as far as this site goes. Maybe you should pay more attention to how we do things here. We do not encourage underaged people to go behind their parents backs to do things or get things done. It doesn't matter if that kind of thing happens a lot or not... it just isn't done here.

Well that's good because that isn't what I was doing.

I want mine done too but my mum won't let me have it, my mates have told me to just do it and face the music when she finds out but I don't want to get in trouble so I'm getting it done and putting a clear one in and telling her when I'm 16

You think your mom won't notice your nose is pierced, even with a clear stud? Unless you plan on hiding in your room until you move out, she's going to notice.

Your mates aren't helping you here, they're just egging you on, don't give in to peer pressure just because your mates think it would be cool.

I know this is just my opinion but whenever I see someone with a nose piercing my first thought is what happens when they sneeze. The only images that come into my mind are not pleasant.

Believe me, going behind you moms back is a big NO. Just don't do it. I pierced my own nose, and even though I sterilized EVERYTHING, it got super infected. Over all that is not a good Idea. And if your mom does find out, there goes any trust or faith she had in you, also it shows you are NOT mature for your age. I am 15 and yes I still wan't my nose pierced. Advice. Make a power Point of all the pros and Cons, How to clean the piercing, examples of successful people with nose piercings, Things to ask the Piercer, all types of nose piercings. Even go the extra length and have facts about nose piercings you don't even wan't. If she still says no, Calmly except it. Fighting will show you are not mature enough to handle the consequences of a piercing. Who know it may make her gain some respect for you and your decisions! Good luck!
