Can you pierce your navel if the hole from a previous navel piercing won't grow up?
all right well, I got my navel pierced in the 8th grade, and it got ripped out during a cheerleading game. The hole completely grew up and I got it re-pierced. During the beginning of my 9th grade year I snagged my belly ring on a shirt and it ripped... badly, but it didn't rip out.. the skin was just really thin. There was abunch of girls that just got their belly buttons pierced not too long after that, and they told me I should let my piercing grow up and get it re-pierced. Its been out for about 4 months, and the bottom is grown up, but the top hasn't. Should I get it re-pierced right away.. or give it more time?

Well, I don't think that you've had very good luck with belly button rings, are you sure that you want to get it pierced again? The first time it was ripped out, were YOU cheering? Because if you were than your coach should've told you to take it out, because mine makes us take out all piercings, because they might get ripped out. I think that you should let it fully heal before you do anything right now, just to be safe.

Definitely let it close completely. Getting another piercing on a previously injured piercing can cause some problems, and that is the last thing you need.

Depending on how much scar tissue you have built up from two injuries, you may not even be able to get it pierced again, and frankly I wouldn't recommend it. Your belly button is a very sensitive area to have pierced and with as many times as you've had one rip, it would more than likely be your best bet to just leave it be.

Of course it is up to each individual piercer whether they will pierce you or not with too much scar tissue, so before you get your heart set on another belly button ring, you may want to check around to be sure that anyone will even do it.

    Good luck! :)
