    Molecular structure of olive oil vs blood
    Hi there - Someone told me recently that olive oil has the same type of molecular structure as human blood. I have not been able to find any evidence of this but was wondering if it is true.

    Where might I try to find info on such a thing?

    Also, if they have a similar structure, would this mean olive oil is more easily absorbed into the body?

    What size does a molecule have to be in order to be absorbed into skin? Anybody know?

    I Don't THINK SO,
    But I will soon check and let you know
    Well I have heard and tried it ,it reallt gets absorbed easily and gives skin a glow
    They won't be same but may be some of the fatty acids are similar to as in human epithelial
    So that's y
    ,cz like dissolves/adsorbs into like

    Very quick answer -- not even close. Olive oil is composed almost exclusively of trigylcerides with unsaturated fatty acids. Blood is an incredibly complex mix of cells, plasma, proteins, fats, etc. The only similarity I could see is that the viscosity is probably somewhat similar.l

    Am sorry I haven't talked about blood,although there are no similarities
    But I have just quoted about the absorbance of loive oil in skin
    N I have talked about epithelial composition

    Abstract The β-carotene concentrations in plasma, blood cells and buccal mucosal cells were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection. This method was 1,000 times more sensitive than the conventional spectrophotometric method. Polymorphonuclear cells and red blood cells had lower β-carotene levels than the other cells. After oral administration of 580 mg/day of all-trans β-carotene to human male volunteers for a week, the β-carotene concentrations in all cell types increased at least several times above the original levels.




    WELL IF BETA CAROTENE IS A SMALLERE CONTENT OF BLOOD CELLS ,THEN IT SHARES ITS Presence IN OLIVE OIL AS WELL...

    I wasn't meaning to impugne your answer. Actually, I was giving my response to the original post. And by 'quick answer', I was referring to my quick answer. I'm sorry for the confusion this caused.

    BTW -- You are probably correct about the adsorption.

    Hey Guys - I was a Literature major, so bear with me! :)

    So, the molecular structure is not similar.


    But the absorption is high and increases B-carotene in blood cells?
