Need to know the sculpture on this artwork
    Hi,

I'm wondering oif anyone know who made the sculpture in the park and the other artwork to it's left. The artist is Ralph Rapien and he was Chicago based but I never saw the work of sculpture anywhere. If you know where it is, I'd appreciate it as well. Thanks very much,

I'm a Chicagoan. The sculpture on the right is:

    Name: pic.Sunform.jpg
Views: 125
Size: 54.4 KB

    "Sunform"

    Sculptor: David Rodgers
    Unveiled: 1984; repositioned in 1998
Location: Lincoln Park -- Center plaza of the historic Great Lawn south of Park Place Café
    Medium: Limestone
Size: The sculpture, which is 6' deep by 8' wide by 8' high, weighs 5 tons.
Description: A modern interpretation of a classic sundial, placed in recognition of The Lincoln Park Zoological Society's 25th anniversary

Google Sunform. Google Lincoln Park sculptures.

P.S. The object on the left (in the painting) is probably a gazebo.

    Too funny!
I was just researching this and got as far as perusing dozens of locations in Lincoln Park to no avail. I hadn't scrolled down to see Wondergirl's response!
As for the dome, my first guess was an apiary near the huge botanical greenhouses. Just a guess. Gazebo sounds good.

    Hi,

Thanks for giving me the entire load of detail on the sculpture.

    That was really fast too.

    Hi,

Thanks for the note. I'm going to do a Google maps on it and look at what it shows in detail. I think it might be a gazebo too.
