    Whirlpool duet dryer
    Hi,

I have a Whirlpool Duet dryer model #GEW9200LW0 IT WONT START! The controls light up but all it does is beep when I press and hold the start button. I have tried.

Made sure the door was closed.. lol;)
    Unplugging and plugging back in
    Locking and unlocking the controls
    Checked the breaker box

The drum will turn both ways... I am sooooo frustrated three kids and no dryer AHHHrr. I so don't want this to cost me a lot of money if it doesn't have to. Just got done spending $300.00 on the dishwasher! Any HELP would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Lisa

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it? It doesn't make any noise at all? Just buzzes with start switch depressed. First I would check the door switch. If you have no meter you could jumper around it. Next I would check the thermal fuse on the vent housing. You could jumper around it as well. Before putting jumper on REMEMBER to unplug unit first. Work SAFE around electricity!

I'm talking about the door switch. Discinnedt the power to the unit and pull one wire off the switch and check it for continuity. You can check and make sure the latch is depressing the switch as well. The thermal fuse will be mounted on the back of the vent housing.Look where the vent hose is connected. That is at the bottom of the housing. Now look up about half way and you will see a plastic piece(about3 inches long and narrow) It will have a wire at each end. Rwmove one wire and chack it for continuity. If none, replace it.
