Kenmore Elite Calypso Washing Machine, Model number 110.2206
Would you please help me with the following issue? My washer is not draining, nor is it spinning. There is a lot of water collected at the bottom and I can't drain or spin? I try to restart it and it just beeps and rumbles for a couple seconds and then stops.

Thank you so much in advance for any help you could offer.

I recently experienced a similar problem with my Calypso... same model. After a $600 repair estimate, I come to find out about the Class-Action lawsuit related to the machine's defective parts and/or engineering. Unfortunately, the deadline has passed to file a claim. You and I are among the unlucky ones whose machines did not break in time. My Calypso's demise was slow and deceptive. The problems I experienced were described by others as well. I thought I was somehow making mistakes... the mysterious black marks on clothing were actually caused by the machine, not by my husband sneaking a greasy rag into the wash. The chronic mildew smell on my clothes and towels were not because I left them in the washer for one hour after the cycle was finished, it was because the water was not pumping properly. Anyway I am currently battling with Sears to honor their satisfaction guarantee and give me my money back on this lemon. I'm not having a lot of luck so far but persistence, politeness, and escalation is apparently the key to success. Good luck.

I am having the same problems, and actually thought I was imagining the black marks, I mean how can you put clothes in a $900 wash mashine and they get dirt on them? I to have missed the boat with the class action suit. There are lots, and lots of us out there if you research. Sears will not stand behind this machine after pushing it when it came out. I have purchased many large appliances from Sears but feel totally mislead and will not buy another thing from them! Here is my experiance:
Kenmore Elite Washer with Calypso. We have one that is about 4 or 5 years old, we are the second owners of this home and washer was here. Yesterday it stopped mid cycle, and the clothes were soaked, so I cleared code which I did not notice and started it again, same thing happened with-in a minute but "Ld" code came up then I moved the drain hose around and it made it through the complete cycle. Today it isn't working again only and error code "SL" came on so I did what manual said and it worked for a minute then the error code "ob" came on so I opened the lid shuffled the clothes around and it was a very small load that this should not have happened; it made it through the rest of the cycle. I then tried to run an empty load to see what happens but cannot because "ob" keeps coming on and stopping the machine even with nothing in it.

I had similar problems - twice but one year apart. Both times, Sears sent out a technician to replace the broken tub for only the cost of the labor, about $160. However, Sears will not stand behind the machine. The last time, the technician accidentally chipped the top of the machine, and Sears refused to fix it except at my expense. Every appliance in our home is a Kenmore. We bought our first Sears washer in 1973. All the appliances except this washer have given good service. However, Sears was purchased a few years ago by K-Mart, and for whatever reason they no longer stand behind their products. It saddens me.
