Gas water heater pilot light won't stay lit
The pilot light on our State Censible gas water heater will not stay lit... it is not the thermacouple and it is protected from drafts. We light it daily... we get enough hot water for about 2 showers and a load of dishes. What could be causing this problem?

Tessie25- Question? how do you know that the thermacouple is not the cause ,has it been testeed?
A loose connection can cause this; Check the nuts on them and make sure they are tighrt, ( they shoul;d be only hand tightened, then use a small wrench and give them a 1/4 turn with the wrench(#2)-
Clean in and around the air shutter0 using a real small paiont brush or a brush tghat a artist uses;;(3)-on the PILOT LIGHT remove the sheild{ Using a real; smalll brush } small paint brush TO CLEAN OUT THE GAS ,{ ORFFICE VALVE HOLES} <Useing the owners manule directions :: ( #4)- CHECK and adjust the gas pilot flam, it should be between 1 " and 1 1/2" if it isn't then adjust it as per the owners manule::Now here is where I have found the trouble several times on them ;; #-5-the GAS CONTROL BOX{ TEST as per owners manule;; I hope this will help youal outand repair your hot water tank;; have a great night and GOD BLESS:::F.B.E.

Thank you so much for your time. We will try the things you suggested. Yes, the thermacouple was tested when the PG&E serviceman came out to light the pilot llight. I will write back later with our results.
