Renovating an old house that has had a mix of radiators and baseboards.
Now the expert contractor tells me that radiotors and baseboards cannot be mixed..
It's been working fine except for the fact that the house should be insulated.
I also planned to add radiant heat - new boiler, mixing valve to bring temp to 100 or so
Same cotractor says radiant doesn't work well with wood floors. Most literature says it works fine, only watch for too high temp. and season new floors so that they don't warp.
Most other opinions says you don't even need all those aluminium diffusion boards and just don cover the floors with too much rugs...

Love to hear expert opinions on those two statements.

Watch how low a the return water is going back to the boiler. If it gets to low that can be a problem. NO problem combining various types of radiators/baseboard/fan coils/PEX radiant floor/wall/ceiling units. It just has to be done correctly.
