Well it will vary by location, but with that in some areas, you will have to list who the possible fathers could be, have dna tests and the such, and if not found you will have to publish a notice so that the real father has a chance to come forward.

** this is often done since at times a person knows who it is, but tries to lie to the court they don't know.

If the father is not found, then it will be up to the court to decide if they will allow or not.
