-about stationary waves and why(my book doesn't help here)

1.particles between adjacent nodes all have the same amplitude

2. particles between adjacent nodes are out of phase with each other

3. particles immediately on either side of a node are moving in opposite directions

4.there is a minimum disturbance of the medium at an antinodetly

I'm not sure what 3 means exactly

The simplest e.g. of stationary wave is : hold the ends of the string in hand and TING::: look first fundamental i.e. largest wave length ; every partical going up and down with same frequecy diff amplitudes and the node pts are static::: now hiher harmonics can be viwed similar to first fundamental by Imagining that every node is end of indivisual string picked in hand:::: but now aditionaly continuty required to satisfied hence the particals must be moving in opposite directions satisfying continuty
