I bought these diet pills from a friend. The imprint is A X? What's is it?
What color, what shape?
Were they a prescription?
Apparently she can't go to the manufacturer's website as she does not know what they are.
If it was the friend's prescription then this could be considered a felony.

That could be phentermine (aka adipex) diet pills. If they are, those are prescription. If you bought them, then why didn't your friend tell you what they were and what they can do and the side effects of them? That drug has some real harmful potential to it. I know. I was prescribed the Fen-Pen drugs many years ago, as part of a study team, and while it was working on the weight, it took a heavy toll on my liver. My cholesterol was skyrocketing.
Don't, don't, don't take any drug that you have not gotten legally by a prescription from your doctor. If something were to have a negative result in your body, just how are you going to explain that?

Buying pills from a 'friend' is no sure way of knowing what you are getting. Pills can be repressed in a "pill press" giving them any brand the re-presser wishes. My advice is to only use over the counter medicine... unless you like playing Russian roulette.
