I know this may be a crazy question, but what is the best way to open a coconut to get the juice out without it spilling everywhere?
Thankswhich one:brown or green(white)young. As for the brown one use a large nail or screw driver to punch out at least 2 of the 3 "eyes" , insert a straw to drink or turn it upside down in to a cup. For young one make sure on the top area,2 inched dia, the hush(skin) is shaved off, then use a hammer,I always use the chinese butcher knife, to knock around the shaved area until the shell cracked, take a STRONG spoon to pry off the cracked shell,you might have a little spill, use a spoon to scoop out the meat

On brown you can use a corn knife and use a good hard blow to the very top edge. Might want to do this outdoors.Then, 1) drink the milk out of it 2) add rum and drink 3) Cut in half with corn knife and peel the coccnut. Yum Yum

Hello, when I was a little girl I used to watch my Dad get a drill out and drill a hole into the coconut to drain the juice outside!
