Okay.! I bought my daughter a puppy the year of 06. It was probley around jan-feb. & It was only a couple of months old.She was a hound dog and this year of 07 she ended up pregnant. Well She had her puppies on the 27th of may. I was wondering. How many weeks is it before the puppies open there eyes and what's some things you need to know. The mother dosen't really want to lay down and feed the puppies so we have to make her. . I know they have to stay with the mother for 6 weeks I believe but when do the open there eyes and ectect. <3 we didn't breed her or anything. One of the dogs who run around at night ended up getting her pregnant

7-10 days= eyes opening.Start weaning them on puppy gruel at 4 weeks. Keep feeding the mom a high protein diet aka puppy food. Vaccinate them at 6 weeks. Find them all good homes. Spay your dog. Good luck

we didn't breed her or anything. one of the dogs who run around at night ended up getting her pregnant This is why it is important to have your pet spayed. Not to mention her chances of cancer are much higher when she is not spayed. Over 10,000,000 dogs put down every year because they can not find homes. Sorry I'll get off my soap box now. The puppies eyes should open up between 7 and 14 days depending on the breed and some other factors.
