Is there anyway to know from IRS directly how much money you own in interests and penalties for overdue taxes right away without waiting to get a bill in the mail ? I know that there are software that will allow you to calculate estimated penalities and interests but I am talking to know the official numbers right away from IRS ?

A phone call to the IRS will probably get you the information. The interest rates and penalties can also be found at www.irs.gov, but the calculations are a bit complox. The IRS can bring up the program and do the calculations while you wait.
