Im trying to start a greeting card company but have limited means, where do I begin?
I really need step by step advise. I can write very well but need help with the artistic factor (cant draw a stick figure) also, even if I found someone to take care of the art how would I begin? What is the first step? And is this a profitable business?

I know that you have a computer. Get some software for printing greeting cards for a start. Advertise about producing greeting cards. For more information about the advertising, you might like to check out the answers that I have posted on the following site concerning starting a business.

Whether it is profitable or not depends on what kind of cards you are producing and who your customers will be and most importantly, how much you want to make as far as profit. The competition is obviously enormous on the national and international level. This is an area of business that would be very hard to break into because of the large competition that there is already.

I would suggest making custom made greeting cards for people - tailored to the needs of the individual customer. Advertise for cards that are custom made. See how it goes. Maybe branch out from there.

As far as making custom cards, I never even thought of that! That's a excellent idea.
Thank you. Im still not 100% positive where to begin though. Its all very new to me.
Thanks again.

(Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated)

Check out sba.gov and score.org. They both have startup advice for small businesses.
