 I am a 56 year old woman who has been dying my hair my old natural color which was dark brown. I find I now have more grey hair, and have to do my roots about every 2-3 weeks. This is resulting in dull, over-dyed hair. My hairdresser suggests I go lighter. I'm not sure I would like myself in a lighter brown color. Would it be better to frost my hair. Also I have thin hair in the very front. I use a hair power product to hide this. If I frosted my hair, what color hair powder would I use.

Thanks

When covering gray hair you should choose a hair color that's at least 2 shades lighter that your natural color. Because hair color tends to look dull or unnatural on gray hair. If you frost your gray hair you will end up with a salt and pepper effect. If your natural color is medium brown then you should select a light brown color. It's best to let your hairstylist do the coloring process for you.
