I have an Amana side-by-side fridge from 2000. Ever since installing it, we've had poor water pressure (low flow) from the drinking water spout. I replace the filter every 5-6 months. Is there something else I can check/do to increase the flow. I'd drink more water if it didn't take a minute or more to get a glass of water...

... valve for the supply line to the fridge and make sure it is fully on. It should be near the cold water pipe where the supply originates. Then check the hose for kinks. If you yet have low pressure turn off the water supply below the fixture supplying the line and disconnect the fridge supply line. Place a bucket under the fitting and slowly turn the supply back on checking for a good stream of water. If not strong you have a build-up of minerals in the line and need to clean it out. If the flow is good then go to the shutoff valve after putting the line back on the main fixture cold water pipe and repeat the flow/mineral gunk test. The cutoff valve could be clogged as could any part of the hose but pay attention to areas nearby fittings including the one on the fridge. Finally, check for a small in-line filter right at the fridge and if one exists make sure it is free of gunk.
