OK I used to live with my friend. For christmas his aunt and uncle gave me a non-working computer that their office was throwing away. After some testing I discovered the problem, the hard drive was missing. So my roommate knowing how much I wanted 2 get it working went out and bought me a hard drive. Now this friend is having money problems and he is claiming that the computer is his because he put a part in it and he wants 2 sell the computer for money. Now I disagree that it is his just because of him putting that part in it... so I'm worried about his aunt/uncle lying about the gift or him taking me 2 court over it and him making some kind of phony verbal agreement claim that his family would lie for him about... but I'm wondering since there is no proof of any kind of ownership on there part, what can they do to me?

Hello spy:

They can say it was a loan, and you can say it was a gift. If they bring the case to court, they have to prove their allegations first, if they don't you don't have to do anything.
