I am trying to wire my window air conditioner to my breaker panel. I only have 3 wires. One black, one white and the ground. How do I connect the wires to the 220 breaker in the panel. My outlet only has 3 wire connection so I know how to connect that. Just not sure how to connect in the main panel with only the 3 wires.

Connect the black and white to the load side terminals of the breaker, one wire to each terminal. Re-mark the white wire with black tape at both exposed ends in the panel and the outlet box to indicate that the wire is now being used as a live wire, and not a neutral.
Connect the bare or green ground to the equipment ground bar in the panel.
I can only assume the circuit breaker and wiring is sized properly for the air conditioner.

The a/c is 14,000 BTU. The wire I am using is 12/2 indoor romex.

This wire needs to be for Air Conditioner ONLY. If other recpticles on same wires. You could
Destroy TV, Lights, anything that shouldn't see 220.
