Is there any recourse for a levy that has been placed on property because of a debt in Massachusetts. Is there a way to keep the laywer from proceeding to sell your poperty if they do not agree to our payment arrangements of the debt.

Hello MAP:

Lot's more info is needed. It depends on the kind of debt you're talking about, and what the lender has done to collect it so far. Tell us EVERYTHING...

The debt is a truck loan, been to court, appeared before the clerk magistrate who continued our case until this month and will re-evaluate our earnings to determine what we can pay. We did set up a payment plan with the lawyer even though they new from the magistrate that we could not afford to pay at that time. We did send some payments.

According to the letter we received from the sheriff the levy has already been placed and we have to contact the laywer to set up arrangement to pay or I guess the will proceed to the next step, which I don't know what that will be.
