I have a GE fridge (model GSH25JFRE) and the water from the dispenser will not get very cold. It is basically the same temperature as the water from the tap. I put a glass of water in the fridge overnight and checked the temperature against the temperature of the water out of the dispenser and the dispenser is about 15 degrees warmer. Fridge is definitely cold enough to produce cold water, but for some reason it just isn't working! Any ideas?

I may be wrong but I don't think the water is supposed to get cold. The water line doesn't run through the fridge right ? Even if the line ran through the fridgeand you wanted two or three glasses of cold water, there would have to be a place somewhere in the fridge to store such amounts of cold water and I don't think there is such a storage compartment, otherwise the water would be straight from the water supply to which the fridge is attached.

Yes, the water line runs into the fridge and there is a large coil of tubing behind the crisper drawer that is supposed to hold the water and keep it cold until it is dispensed. If I get a bottle of water from the fridge it is ice cold, so whatever water that is in the tubing should also get that cold, right?

I would think so but it's been awhile since I sol fridges, didn't sell many GE's though like you have but most of the issues I received from new customers was that 1) the water from the dispenser was not cold and 2) it's not making ice. The "not making ice" question was quashed when I reminded the delivery guy to advise a customer that they must let the ice water get cold and freeze first and this takes about 24 hours or so. If I remember, the first complaint was the no cold water issue. I just looked at my Kenmore side by side, water's not cold, never has been. If I open the freezer door where the dispenser is mounted, I see a line that runs under the fridge where it, of course, is not cold since it's not part of the refrigerator compartment. I do see the tubing at the back of the fridge compartment but I think that's a storage container to make ice, not cold water. I am not a technician so why not call GE, give them the model number, ask them the question to make sure I am not wrong. I just don't believe it should be cold but might be wrong. Here's their tel number from their webpage:
