Need some more details i.e. 1) what is a personal support service, what kind of services do you offer ? 2) what city and state do you live in ? Each county, state, city has or may not have requirements as to whether a bond is required - if I know the locality where you live, I might be able to ck that city, state, county website or you can call each.
I doubt you will be required to post a bond but if's difficult to say for sure without knowing eactly what services you will provide. Bonds (surety not fidelity) are an extension of credit and are 3 party instruments, the surety, the obligee and you, the principal. Should you fail to follow the requirements of the obligee as imposed by their ordiance, code, statute, then the bond will be in default, the surety will then be called up to pay or act showhow to remedy your improper action or failure to act, and then the surety will seek reimbursement from you.
