My wife is having a problem with our washer draining. We have not changed anything... same washer... same everything. In the last couple weeks, the washer has started overflowing when it drains. It overflows out the drain pipe behind the washer. I tried using a drain opener (bladder type that you attach to your hose and it expands and forces the water to unplug the pipe... not sure what it is called?). The water seems to drain fine and there doesn't seem to be a clog. But, it is still having the same issue... water comes up the drain pipe and overflows. Any suggestions?? THANKS!

The problem with a bladder type clog clearer is that they MUST be used DOWNSTREAM froim a vent. If you used it on the washer stand pipe then you used it UPOSTREAM from the washer vent so all the pressure went up the vent. The solution would be to snake out the washer drain from the washer r5oof vent or the washer stand pipe. Good luck, Tom
