Dear Help Desk,

I've got a Kenmore Series 80 Washer, model #92588210. Everything works fine except the spiral-shaped "tower" in the center of the drum. It does not turn, and consequently does not pull down the clothes. The agitator at the base of the "tower" works fine, though.

My main question is how to remove the center piece. I don't know if it is a gear that is stripped or what, but I'd like to replace it.

The dawgs are wore out. Remove the fabirc softner dispenser and there will be a cap under that. Remove the cap and you will find a bolt to remove then the whole agitator will pull out.

Perfect! I pulled out the cap, and yes, there were all the broken pieces of the dawgs. It was an easy repair thanks to your advice.
