So my outside spigot, although apparently fully closed, will still continue to allow water to flow.

I haven’t used it in ~3 weeks, and used it tonight to water some shrubs and whatnot. Now, although there is not leaking from the knob, and I can feel it reach the end of its travel, water is still flowing.

No previous problem with the spigot; seems pretty random. Temporary solution is with a sprayer handle mounted right to the spigot, since there’s a pinhole in my hose, and I don’t care the water the enire backyard.

Thanks for any insight. Confused, and slightly damp, -A

See this site:

Faucet Runs - Replacing A Washer On An Outdoor Hose Bib (http://www.hammerzone.com/archives/plumbing/faucet/outdoor/repair/washer_replace.htm)

You MIGHT have a cut off close to the faucet that doesn't interrupt water flow to the entire home. Look for the cover of a small underground enclosure near the faucet OR in the cabinets under any indoor plumbing fixtures within a few feet of the outdoor faucet.

Yep, that sounds exactly what I've got happeneing. I'll investigate tomorrow, and see if I can find anywhere open that might have that replacement washer. Many thanks. -A
