You need to know the total pressure , what it use for, and the flow rate you want

The consultant requirement is booster pump , the capacity is 2L/S @ 3 Bar. Then he asked make the calculation te see if this pump is suitable for the system or not.
What shall I do?

what shall i do? that is the pump's spec?. you have to provide the total pressure lost of your system: the location with the highest press lost( vertical / horizontal piping , fittings, equipment( coil)). .

Thanks dear caibuadday
Could you please show me how to do the calculation for the pressure losses?
And if there is a programe doing so?
Thanks again.

Is it closed or open, what is t he height, what is it length(horizontal), what are the fittings in the horizontal section, pipe's size, the intended flow rate

-it's closed
-it's pumped form high level to low level, i.g. from I.L. 6.00 to I.L -3.00
-the horizantal length is about 100 MTR.
-there is about 20 elbows , 5 TEES, and 8 valves.
The pipe's size are 65mm (10MTR),40MM (40MTR),32MM(25MTR),20MM(25).
Pump capacity is 2L/s @ 3 Bar.

How to calculate the pump head (static pressure of a four story building in which airconditioning plant installed at basement and ahu are each floor and bulding total height is 15metre

how to calculate the pump head (static pressure of a four story building in which airconditioning plant installed at basement and ahu are each floor and bulding total height is 15metre
15 m is about 50ft, 50 x 0.433 = 21.7 or 22 psi; 36.7 psia or 2.5 atm... what is the height different between the pump and the heightest ahu; don't forget you still have lost through the chiller and ahu

Get the pump curve from your supplier
Plot the system curve by getting several Head and Flow Rate points.
(Assume Q=0.5, 1.0, 1.5, get H=Static Head + Frictional Loss.)
If these two curves intersect at 3bar to 2L/s, then your selection correct.
