My son flushed a washcloth down our toilet. The toilet seems to be doing fine. I plunged it but nothing came up. So I flushed it a couple of times and it worked. Then I took a large wad of TP and it flushed fine. We've used it a few times since and it works OK.

I'm just wondering if I should still auger it/clean the trap/etc. just to make sure there's nothing there. This poor toilet took a beating when my son was younger (a couple of pacifiers and my wedding rings were some of the casulaties).

Again we've never had a problem. However, with this newest addition to the flush-fatalities, I'm worried we might be reaching critical mass somewhere.

HELP!!

I'm sure that as long as it is not backing up everything is fine, if you have a cleanout outside take the cap off and give it a few flushes and make sure the water is flowing good.

You tested for a blockage the same way we do. If you can flush down large wads of toilet paper without a backup then it's a safe bet the trap's clear and the wash cloth went out the main. Good luck, Tom

I just had to reply to tell you I feel your pain! We have lost a pair of potty training panties, a little tikes wrench, a wash cloth, pennies (wishing well I guess), and various other items. I am glad my kids aren't the only ones with potty fascinations.
