I dyed my hair semi permanent black about 1 month ago and now I'm ready to get to a light-medium golden brown. I want my eyebrows to match (they're also black). I would LOVE to be able to do this on my own as I am in college and have no money to afford a professional, but I want to make sure there is no sign of any red in my hair. Any advice?

I'm no expert but semi-permanent dyes you use at home are generally very expirimental, and sometimes they wash out wuick and other times they don't.
What's your natural color?
And try washing your hair more often, I have also herd that a shampoo called "Prell" (which is reletivly cheap, I have some) helps color fade faster and that may help taking the black out of your hair, it helped my color fade slightly (then again mine was permanent and on for a long time), so it may work much better for you, but if you use it make sure you have a REALLY good hair moisterizer because it tends to dry hair out

If your hair is naturally dark and you want to go light golden brown without the red tones, you would have pre-lighten your hair and then deposit the selected hair color. Anything other than that will result in a red or orange shade since dark hair contains a lot of red pigment in it. But, if you used a dark semi-permanent color on your hair, the color can lasts 1-4 weeks. If you shampoo frequently, the color should wash out in 6-12 shampoos. Try using Prell, dandruff shampoos or clarifying shampoos to help wash away the color.
