I have a Hunter Fan (I think) that stopped working (magically) but the light kit on it works. I had recently removed an identical model fan with light kit out of another room that was working fine when I replaced it with an updated fan. So I replaced that "non-working" fan with the other one - same thing - light works, but no fan. I have tested all wires, wired it differently, and even replaced a wall switch - everything appears to have power but fixes it.

Recently, I bought a Harbor Breeze (I think) remote thinking that may work. Same results, only now I hear the fan motor trying to go - a hum.

FYI - 2 white wires from ceiling to white on remote receiver, 2 blacks from ceiling to black, then receiver to fan - white to white, black to black, and blue to blue.

I believe I have tried everything, but maybe there is something I have not done. Do I just need a new fan? Does it sound like I have a problem with the wiring?

Thanks

Forget the remote for now. The wire for the light works. Tie the Fan wire(Usually Black)
To the wire that works the light(Known hot). Now Troubleshoot fan, Pull switch, reverse switch(Not in the middle), and Capacitor.
Your wiring sound correct.

It sounds like maybe the remote receiver is bad. Have you tried wiring any of the fans without it?
