My Kenmore Elite Catalyst washer keeps giving me the Ob error when it is running. What does that mean?

Off Balance: If the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display an ob. The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition occurs. Open the lid and redistribute the load.
