Is giving the finger to someone against the law?

Afraid not... vulgar hand gestures are included in that whole freedom of speech thing.

Isn't is really the Hawaiian sign of peace?

(I wouldn't try waving it at a cop, though!)

Acknowledge it with a peace sign. Who is the student? Who is the teacher-opportunites for growth..

While it is not against the law, a officer wanting to stop that person and do a "terry frisk and search" of that person is also not illegal.

And of course the officer thinking of the tens of thousands of laws and code violations from littering to jay walking is not illegal either.
In Atlanta we used to call it quilty by stupidity.

If someone gives me the finger it insights anger and rage. When I reply with a peace sign I've grown beyond that. I've also demonstated something to someone else and my negative has become positive. I honestly hope you can have some of what I'm on everyone deserves to be free.
