Can you get online? Microsoft.com should be able to give you the latest IE. And drivers for what devise?

Windows Xp user

If you have the Operating systems CD you can use that to re-install optional windows components which also includes Explorer.

Also suggest trying windows update web site and search for internet explore there.

Explorer.exe is not IE but the main part of Windows file system. Your best bet is to reinstall Windows.

If that is correct then windows wouldn't work right as I Know Shutting down Explorer.Exe shuts down windows if using windows 95/98. Scott wouldn't that also if this file has been deleted stop windows from fully starting up which in turn means he would have to re-install windows or do a system repair with the Windows Cd.

Exactly. The OP didn't say what was happening. Nor did he say he was using the same machine to post the question. But if he's getting a message that explorer.exe was deleted he isn't booting to Windows.

All you need to do to re-install windows is place the Windows CD into the CD rom and it should auto start. First thing you should do is try a repair as this will replace the EXE file. If this doesn't work then re-install windows. Warning in re-installing windows it will ask to format the Drive, formatting the drive will delete everything on the drive. So do the repair first. Then if this doesn't.t work clone all important files to another drive or CD, so that all important files are copyed, and reinstall. Doing the clone of files to another drive or CD will make sure all important files are keeped.

Other than this you could copy the Explorer.exe file from another computer and install it on the computer missing the file. This would be the preferred (easier) way to do it.
