I'm a renter from Minnesota. I'm a student so I'm also pretty poor. I live in a splitlevel apartment in which my landlord lives above me. He's selling his house and is giving us one month to move out, because the new landlords want to turn our level into a daycare facility. We have a lease that runs for 10 more months. Can he legally make us move out?

No he can not, the new buyer is required by law to honor your lease.

You need to notify him that he is legally bound to your lease, he can offer to buy your leave out, but you are not required to sell it out to him.

well you sort of have him where you want him, if you don't move, he may well lose the sell, or end up getting sued by the new buyer when they find you have a lease. ( or you could end up with a day care below you)

I would ask for all my moving expenses paid, and 2 to 3 months rental value as a min. that would include money to get all utilities moved, new depoisit. Basic to get you back exactlay where you are at now, without any money out, plus a couple of months rent for your time and trouble.
Esp since there is 10 months and he has a sale pending

Read your lease carefully. I am in the same boat my landlord is selling the house I live in. There is a clause in my lease that says if the house is sold the new owners can ask me to move out with 60 days. If that clause was not in my lease then the new owners would have to honor my lease. Since you are a college student try contacting legal aid or your college to see if they offer leqal help.

Luvmylab's input may be correct; however, most landlord tenant laws state that a landlord can not take away the rights of a tenant. If your state's landlord tenant law specifies that a new owner must honor the lease agreement, nothing the landlord writes in a lease will make that law null and void.

I have a lease that says I pay 150.00 a month. Rent is 411.00 my land lard evicted me and put on my credit I owe him 6125.00. He have to go by the lease contract he would not take the 150.00 a month do I owe 6125.00
