My friend sold a car to some guy and failed to remove his belongings from the glove compartment.
The guy who purchased the car got arrested for larceny, something to do with credit cards and I think something else but, he used my friends name.
My friend says he has never been to Georgia which is where it occurred. My friend lives in Missouri.
I thought when you were arrested they took your finger prints and picture so, why won't any one check these when he is trying to tell them it is not him?
Can someone please tell me what he can do to get this taken care off properly? I would also like to know if he can sue them for the false arrest and/or if he ends up serving time for this? Please help and thank you!!

or if he ends up serving time for this? Hello jane:

Of course, they'll be a trial. Of course, they have to PROVE it was him. Of course, if it wasn't him, then I don't see how he'll do time.

Can you sue him? Sure.
