I recently resuced a sweet dashound from a local humaine society. He is approximately five years old and he is not housebroken. At first I thought I was lucky because he seemed to be going outside but as of late he pretty much relieves himself whenever and where ever he pleases. How can I train this old dog new tricks?
Also, I've had him about a week and today he began to vomit from time to time. It's never a very large amount or for very long but what is causing it and how can I prevent it? I would really appreciate ANY help! Thanks!!

Thank your for rescuing him. Count on some of the others here and I to do all we can to help. The housebreaking at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/information-articles-our-dogs-expert-labman-53153.html#post251809 as is most, is written for the younger dog, but at the end is a paragraph on the differences in timing with an older dog.

The vomiting could be a reaction to his disrupted life or a physical problem. Did he have a vet check? Even so, you may want to get started with your own vet. Most dogs need heart worm and flea preventative. Take any medical records that you have for him. Without a record, your vet may assume he has nothing and start all over with unnecessary shots.
