Hi - I have a yamaha rxv1000 that's hooked up for home theater in TV room on A and 2 speakers in Living room on B. I wanted to extend the sound to back yard, so I used a yamaha dsp a1000 to hook up outdoor speakers. I ran from the rxv1000 preamp main out to an audio input... CD on the a1000, I set the rec out on the main receiver and the out door speakers won't play the source - it does but it is very faint. I ran the speaker test and the tones are nice and loud, but the source will not play loud. I changed the sources - TV, dvd, cd... all the same very faint sound. Also, if I turn up the volume on the main receiver, the outdoor speakers will get a little louder. If I mute or turn down the volume on main receiver, that affects the outdoor as well. I'm not sure what I did wrong... I set it up last year and it worked fine... I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to let viewers know that I found the problem... I needed to connect from "Zone 2 out" to line-in on amp. Then, select the component for source, using the zone 2 component selector on the front panel. It's pretty obvious once I looked at the diagram more... I just assumed it needed to go from main out...
