Well I had to go out of the house to get my classes taken care of. You will want to take a first aid/CPR class, and a babysitter course. It is better to have hand-on experience, you know what I mean? When it comes to babies and children, you really need to know what you are doing.

There is no book or online course that can prepare you for children!
I agree with the previous post, HANDS ON EXPERIENCE is really the best and ONLY way to learn how to take care of children. First aid and CPR classes are a necessity! Plus, all children are different. You could read a book about one kid and babysit a kid that doesn't fit that mould. You have to be creative and think outside the box a lot.
Good Luck and God Loves You!

Don't think you'll find any classes on line but you're probably could find free city sponsored classes where you live.

This is not an on-line option but you can take a babysitting class from the American Red Cross, at thousands of locations all over the country. If you cannot afford the fee, they will typically waive it. They call it a "scholarship".
You have to be 12 or older to take the class. Many Red Cross chapters offer the classes directly, or run them through a local school district community class program, park programs, etc.
It only takes one day, so having to go is not an obstacle for most people.
Best wishes!
Incidentally, this is for babysitting, which is not the same as getting licensed to daycare. To do daycare, you need to go to a community college program and can probably get aid or a loan if you cannot afford it. Many schools offer everything they can on-line but you have to go to campus for some parts of it. For example, you cannot get experience caring for the children on-line so you would take your child development courses, child psychology, how to manage your daycare practice and related courses on-line, then go to campus for the hands-on classes.
