x : x + 15 = 7:12<<<< solve for x this is properties of proportions

2x-3 is to 3 as 1 - x is to 5<<<< I have no idea

p varies directly as the square of r, if p = 64, r=4, and r= 3 , find the value of p1

The volume of gas varies inversely as the pressure, if v = 100 , p= 76 , and p1= 38 , find the value of V1

I need all of this explained and solved for me because I have tried n tried somebody help me please!

I'll do the first one:

x/(x+15) = 7/12
x=(x+15)7/12
12x=7(x+15)
12x=7x+105
5x=105
x=21

This basically says that:
(2x-3)/3=(1-x)/5
10x-15=3-3x
13x=18
x=18/13

Uh, could you explain what u mean by r=4, r=3, p=64? I'm somewhat confused at what you are trying to say.
