Can you file bankruptcy when you are on disability and the creditors a re all over you and they are taking garnishments and setting judgements against you? When on disability you barely have enough to live on... let a lone pay bills... these are all creditors that I had before being put on disability... beleive me... going from a 40,000.00 a year job to 6000.00 a year is very rough. So can you file a chapter 7?

First of course they should not be able to garnish anything if you are on disability, they can get all sorts of judgements against you, but they can't collect anything. So just tell them not to bother you.
I would not even try to pay any of them, pay for a place to live, the electric and food. ( plus look into social services for state aid)
This may not be good "legal" advice but from a honest view point, odds are you are going to be further in debt being on disability, so why not wait to file bankruptcy until latter?
But the only good answer can be given to you by a bankruptcy attorney, you may want to go get a first hand opinion on what they think is best.
** all of this of course depends on the types of loan, the state laws on judgements in you state, and other property and things you own.
