Hi,
About 4-5 weeks ago I had a problem in my ear which would occur
Every couple of years. I would have this throbbing ear ache at nights
Which would prevent me from sleeping. In the 4-5 weeks ago I had blood
Discharge from my ear, in which I went to see my doctor about. He told me I had an ear
Infection and gave me antibiotics for a weeks period. It had gone away altogther, however
I had developed a lump in my right ear recently which would hurt every time I
Touched it, the pain has gone away now leaving the small lump in the outer just above the ear lobe, I'm quite concerend about it and would like to know if you know what it could be. I would also like to know how reliable can this website be?

Well, it is behind the ear and on the ear and behind the ear lobe, like where you would tuck your hair behind... what is a swollen lymph node?

As far as reliability of the website, for the most part you are getting answers from strangers who may have had similar experiences. This in no way should replace the diagnosis of your healthcare provider.

Now, about your ear, without doing a complete history and physical for your particular problem, there is really no way to tell exactly what it is. I was thinking it was a swollen lymph node until you said it was above the ear lobe.

Is it on the ear itself, or more like in front of the ear on the back of the cheek?
