Im wondering if anyone can help me, I have just purchased a home which has a Brivis EMS 20E unit.

Every time I turn it on, it comes on for about 5 seconds, but then the thermostat inside says Error Code 41 (which apparently means overheating).

It runs off a HSI pilot (but me being a girl I have NO IDEA what I am talking about!)

The brivis website has not been a great help and I was wondering if anybody there could offer any suggestions on what the problem may be so that I can try and fix this myself before calling in the experts.

Thanks

Never heard of that brand before. What country are you in? Sounds English or you are an Ausie?

5 second burner sounds like an ignition fault to me.. check for a dirty flame sensor or a poor earth ground.

Hi. Can't figure out out to start a new thread on this forum, so hopefully this will be seen.

I have a Brivis MPS external ducted heating unit. Have called the service department and they say it is a month before they can make a service call. It is winter, so I am looking for suggestions.

The pilot is working fine. When the controller is turned on to heat, the main burner lights, and then it goes out within 2-3 seconds and comes up with an error message. First is ER 61 H1, then gets replaced with ER 52 H1. Resetting the unit doesn't fix it.

These codes don't appear to be on any web sites I can find. Am looking for any ideas at all... it is very cold...

Clean the flame sensor if so equipped.

Clean the flame sensor if so equiped.

Do you mean the thermo couple?

I'm not sure what a flame sensor is...

Error code 61
Error 61 indicates the unit is not operating due to a malfunction or fault of the heaters N-G1/lo module.

This error may be reset at the power supply. If the error continues to appear a service technician should attend.

This is all I have on the subject.
