I have a 3 month old puppy and ever since we brought it home 4 days ago it runs away from humans and will not walk around while we are up and it won't play with anyone or come to anyone it just lays in a corner all by itself. Is something wrong with him? How do we get him to be more active?

What kind of puppy? Do you hold it and give it attention? ( I guess sort of trying to make it comfortable :) )

That is quite likely of a puppy that lived in a kennel until it was 3 months old with little contact with people. The period between 6 and 12 weeks are extremely important in the development of a dogs personality. Give it time and offer it attention, but do not force yourself on it. Be generous with treats. You can measure out its kibble for the day and then use part of it as treats. Things should slowly improve, but some of the harm of poor early socialization may never be undone.
Be sure and let the breeder and everybody else know what a lousy job the breeder did. If the breeder makes excuses, ask them what Scott says about early socialization and the critical period. Likely you will get a blank stare. This is part of the reason some others and I here are so negative toward people asking questions on breeding that show a total lack of research. The clueless need to forget breeding and get their dogs spay/neutered.
I am sorry about my negative tone, but you may have a real struggle with that puppy due to others' irresponsibility.

Very sorry to hear about your puppy. Have you taken him to a vet for a check up just to make sure nothing else is the matter with him? Like his hearing.
If you pick him up does he try to get away?

Yes, a prompt visit to the vet with a new puppy is always a good idea. Take the medical records you should have gotten.

Vet needs to examine to ensure that this puppy isn't injured in any way. Please get back to us on this. Very concerned.
