I have a kitchen drain in which the pipe is embedded in cement. It broke off right at the top of the cement, which is 3 feet thick. I need to connect the drain pipe to it. What should I use. I have tried epoxy and it did not adhere to the cement.

If I were faced with this problem I would chip the cement from around the pipe down a few inches and install a Fernco Shielded Coupling,(see image) and couple a piece of pipe onto the coupling to bring it up out of the cement. Or if PVC just prime and glue on a PVC coupling and bring it up that way.
Good luck, Tom
