Can you give the context where you saw the term MIB.
SNMP is a protocol for managing networks.

Quick Explanation: A MIB is used by Management Systems, such as, HP Openview, HP Insight Manager, CiscoWorks, etc, to identify, the Make/Model/Details of a particular device.
The management system will use SNMP to query the MIB to extract this info.
