Hi all! My first post here! I have a 10 week old Siamese Kitten and a 4 month old Pit Bull puppy. Both are girls. The kitten has started sucking the puppies nipples to try and get milk out. She just keeps at it (nothing coming out). And my Pit doesn't bother with it! She just lays there and sleeps lol. We have had the Kitten for 3.5 weeks so she has been eating dry food a little over 4.
Has anyone else had this happen? And do you think it is normal!

I don't see it as a problem. Surely the kitty will give up before long. If it starts to annoy the puppy, it should be able to discourage the kitty.
Let me caution you that prompt answers aren't always good ones. Even my answer is coming out of my general knowledge and not any specific experience or training. Worse yet are answers Googled up by those unable to evaluate what they find.

Basically I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem! Just because we think it is odd :)

I have 2 two year old cats that let our puppy suck her nipples! It's the funniest thing. I would try to stop it, I sure wish I had! Know when I hold my cat she bites my nipples!!
Try tapping the cats noise when she does it. Not to hard or it will really hurt!

Lol I am glad someone else has this problem! Our kitten wakes us up in the middle of the night doing it!! And will do it when she is laying the puppy! LoL it is pretty funny and cute :)

It shouldn't be a problem. Kittens will sometimes try to nurse to make themselves feel more comfortable, especially if they were taken away from their moms too early. I have a one year old who still nurses her blanket.

What is considered to early? She is a Siamese, someone told me 13 weeks is when they should leave the mom. We got her the day she turned 7 weeks old.

We got our cats at 8 weeks. I think we took them to early. That may be the reason why!

Our Kitten was the last of her litter because someone didn't come through that was supposed to buy her! We got lucky she was still available. They sold all the others at 6 weeks!! I think that is crazy! But she was eating and still nursing when we took her. But she took to kitten food fine! And believe me she ISN'T suffering lol. She's got a fat kitty belly :)
