I noticed that my shower drain was leaking under house. I don't know much about plumbing but want to know what could cause this and how it can be fixed. Thanks

You have to identify exactly where it is leaking. Start by pouring water down the drain and trying to see the highest point water comes out. If water doesn't leak out when you pour it down the drain, try throwing it on the side. If that makes it leak, it may be bad grout in the tile, or a bad seal between the side and pan at the bottom. Try that, and post back. If it is the drain pipe, let us know black, white plastic, copper, etc.

It is draining from underneath tub the pipe is pvc it looks like from under house it is coming from the top right under neath the drain below the house. When you let the drain go to empty water out of tub it comes out of pipe asif you were pouring it. The tub drains really slow as if it were clogged if that may help. Thanks

Tub drains clog up with hair and the grease from soap and must be cleaned,(snaked) out occasionally. This is done from the tub waste and overflow and not the tub drain itself. First clear the drain and then tell us exactly the fitting it's leaking out of. The trap? Connection to the trap? Tub drain? I need you to be more specific. If you plan on doing the work yourself and need instructions on how to snake a tub drain, click on back. Cheers, Tom
